This is a multi purpose protector they advertise it mainly as a snow cover for a windshield but you can easily use this for other things. I am personally using this under my computer desk as a carpet floor protector. Now I don't have to worry about my carpet getting dirty when I'm sitting at my computer with my shoes on instead this mat can take the beating and leave my carpet looking new.
The material is straight foam or that's what it feels like to me. I find it comfortable on my bare feet it seems to work great with colder weather as I can feel my body heat retain in the material. I was expecting the material to be more heavy duty from the pictures but it is super lightweight I have ran my chair over it numerous times and it has shown no signs of wear and tear.
